Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend
Kids Incorporated’s mission is: Supporting and educating families and young children through quality early learning, health & family services. Vision: Our vision is: All children and families reach their full potential. Overview: Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend is a community organization serving children 0-3 years of age and pregnant women. Founded in 1972 by the late Budd Bell in the basement of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tallahassee, today we provide direct services to more than 300 children and their families in Jefferson, Leon and Madison counties. Kids Incorporated is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and is a certified-member agency of the United Way of the Big Bend. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, Kids Incorporated continues to be guided by the conscience of our late founder, Budd Bell. Although Budd was honored by governors, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and was named one of Eckerd’s Top 100 Women in America, she always believed that the best recognition for a job well done was a smile from a child. An Early Head Start Policy Council provides guidance from parents impacted by our programs as well as community leaders. A Health Services Advisory Board provides guidance in the health & disability program area as well.
